Sentencing for former Hayfield High School principal delayed

UPDATE: According to the Wabasha County Court calendar, sentencing is now scheduled for Friday at 1:15 p.m.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Former Hayfield Sigh school Principal Grant Klennert will not be sentenced in Wabasha County court tomorrow.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to three criminal sexual conduct charges.

Friday, his attorney requested the sentencing hearing, originally scheduled for Tuesday, be pushed back because the attorney is in trial and unavailable.

Klennert’s attorney stated he is available as soon as Friday, though nothing appears be scheduled in the court calendar as of now.

The incidents in the case stem from when Klennert was a minor, according to court documents. An investigation found three victims claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Klennert from 1998 to 2003.
