Berkeley County adjusts 2024-2025 school calendar with earlier start, new breaks

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Next year’s school calendar in Berkeley County will be a little different than in the past.

The Board of Education approved Tuesday evening a draft for the 2024-2025 instructional calendar.

This change will have students starting school on Wednesday Aug. 14, instead of the third Monday of August. It also will add additional instructional breaks.

Also, Thanksgiving break will be limited to three days instead of a full week.

The Board also approved roofing improvements for Sedgefield Middle School and the Center of Academics and Innovation Building.
