WEDNESDAY, Nov. 29 Teen art at HB Library

Mosaic art has been practiced for 4,000 years and spans many cultures. Teens aged 13-17 are welcome at the Hermosa Beach Library, 550 Pier Ave., from 3 to 4 p.m. to learn about this art and make votive holders.

Board games at North library

ONGOING Classics at Old Town Music Hall

Classic movies, with music on a historic Wurlitzer pipe organ, and old-fashioned sing-alongs can be enjoyed regularly at the Old Town Music Hall, 140 Richmond St. in El Segundo. Homeira Goldstein tribute

Now through Dec. 31, the Manhattan Beach Art Center invites the public to visit “Legacy: Honoring Homeira Goldstein’s History with the Manhattan Beach Art Center.” The center, 1560 Manhattan Beach Blvd., is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thomas Dambo’s trolls

The sculpture collection “Trolls: Save the Humans” occurs at the South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Blvd., on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Six larger-than-life troll characters were created by recycle artist Thomas Danbo, and will be on the premises now through Jan. 14. The exhibit is included with general admission, which is $15 for adults and free for members; southcoastbotanicgarden.org.

UPCOMING Behavior Change workshop

Cancer Support Community South Bay offers a free workshop led by a mental health clinician on “The Science of Behavior Change.” Join the group on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m., in-person at the center, 2601 Airport Drive, Torrance, or on Zoom starting at 1:30 p.m. Participants will learn and practice evidence-based strategies to increase motivation, confidence and readiness for change. ESMoA reopening

ESMoA, the Experimentally Structured Museum of Art, reopens at its new hub, 14929 Hawthorne Blvd., in Lawndale, with an open house on Saturday, Dec. 2. Visitors can partake in a tour and art-making activities from 3 to 5 p.m., then a Video Art and Film Festival screening from 5 to 6 p.m. A reception follows. Regular gallery hours start are Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., except the last two Saturdays in December. From this location, ESMoA’s long-term goal is to curate mobile shows throughout LA County. “Lost Girl” at Redondo High

Students and Redondo Union High School present “Lost Girl,” an exploration of love, loss, identity and magic based on the character Wendy in J.M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan.” Show times are Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets available online at ruhsdrama.com; from any cast or crew member; or at the school’s ASB Finance Office for $10 by Dec. 1. Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid training teaches how to recognize and support individuals experiencing challenges. Beach Cities Health holds a session covering this topic on Friday, Dec. 1 from 9 to 4 a.m. Learn how to assess risk factors, provide initial support, and connect with professional resources when needed. Attendees will have the opportunity to take kits for Narcan, an opioid-reversal medication. “Screenagers: Under the Influence”

Beach Cities Health District hosts a showing of the documentary “Screenagers: Under the Influence,” on Wednesday, Dec. 6. from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Hermosa Valley School, 1645 Hermosa Valley Dr. The film delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence, and its effects on substance use.
