Temecula Valley Unified school board member Danny Gonzalez resigns
Danny Gonzalez, one of the three conservative members of the Temecula Valley Unified School District school board, has resigned, effective Friday, The Press Enterprise reported.
Without Gonzalez on the board, the Temecula Valley Unified School District no longer has a conservative majority. They are, however, meeting on Dec. 18 to consider appointing a replacement who would serve until November, 2024.
Gonzalez said his work will require him to move to Texas for a couple of years, and he has decided to “live out on our 40-acre ranch and raise cattle and horses” rather than commute between both states.
“It was an honor and privilege to serve the Temecula community and it is with a heavy heart that we are leaving,” Gonzalez wrote, according to the Press Enterprise. “We wish (the school district) and the entire valley well and appreciate the support we have received over this last year.”
