“The development of the annual school calendar requires the balancing of the interests of students, families, and staff, along with requirements from the Virginia Department of Education,” the school system says before the poll. “Your input will be included in the presentation of calendar options to the School Board in November.”
School officials also noted that each option has the same number of total instructional hours.
The calendar poll is open until Oct. 27. The options will be presented to the school board in November. The board will make a final decision in December.
